Q-How do I select a
videographer?
|
A-Helpful Tips on Choosing an Event Videographer:
1. Always Preview Their Work.
2. Look for Quality in the Video Clarity. (Is there
sufficient lighting and are the images crisp and in
focus?)
3. Pay Special Attention to Audio (Are microphones being
used for vows, readings, toasts, music etc…)
4. Is the Work Creative, Unique & Personalized, or is it
cookie cutter & template?
5. Is the Editing Interesting & Fun to Watch? (Are
there special effects & proper use of music to enhance
the emotional content of the video?)
6. Get to Know Your Videographer. Do you have a
connection & feel comfortable with the person who will
be documenting your special event & interacting with
your guests?
7. Also, see what
Brides.com recommends. |

Q-How many songs should I choose
for my video and do you have any suggestions? |
| A-We typically like to have at least 10 songs to
choose from. Depending on the package you choose, we use
music for multiple segments and also on your DVD menu(s).
Choose songs that are a reflection of your personality
and try to mix it up a bit (some fast & some slow) This
will make your wedding movie much more fun to watch!
Keep in mind that typically we choose not to use your
"1st dance song" , simply because we will hear that
during your 1st dance, so you are encouraged to choose
additional songs for your wedding video segments (
Highlights, Montage, Love Story, Preparation,
In-Between, Credits, Honeymoon Photos Etc…) |

Q-Do you have any suggestions on
where to shoot our Love Story? How can
we prepare for this shooting session? |
A-It should really be a reflection of you as a
couple - is there anywhere you generally like to go
together or anything you like to do that we could
incorporate?
For Example:Mini Golf, Bowling, Go Carts, Camping,
Boating, Movies, Dining out...etc....ANYTHING that you
enjoy...
If I were to ask you, what kind of things you like to
do together & where do you like to spend free time
together if you aren't working...that can sometimes lead
to a location...or if you want to go to a park, there
are several to choose from. Lords's Park in Elgin is a
nice spot and tends not to be too crowded...or if there
is somewhere similar to where you met or he proposed, or
anywhere that has any kind of interesting story to you
both...or we could go for ice cream, & walk around
downtown Dundee by the Dairy Queen...or over in
Algonquin by the Fox Fiver near the marina with the
boats & fountains...it really depends on the aesthetic
you want to have... I can suggest lots of nice places,
but it's really up to you and if the place has any
meaning of any kind, all the better. Gazebos, fountains,
waterfalls, and beaches are beautiful locations.
Carnivals, and Seasonal/Holiday locations are also fun
spots to consider.
We usually meet up at the location you choose. The
Video Gallery has several sample love stories in it - so
if you watch those, it will give you an idea of the
things people have said in response to my questions.
The questions to reflect on & think about are: How
you met/he proposed, what you love about each other &
what you look forward to in the future. Also, a special
"secret" message to each other, that you won't hear
until you see your finished video! |

Q-Can you convert my aging
videotapes onto DVD? |
| A-YES! We will gladly convert just about any
videotape to DVD format. We do not convert film to DVD,
just videotape. See our

Conversion page for all the details! |
